Chavez to Obama: Hey Man, Socialism Is The Good Stuff

March 7th, 2009 · No Comments

As if Obama needed any encouragement, Hugo Chavez is out trumpeting the benefits of socialism and urging Obama to follow in his footsteps and create a socialist state in the U.S. Obviously, that’s what Obama wants long-term, but he’s really hesitant about using the “s-word” right now. He needs and wants to implement socialism gradually, without actually calling it that (bank takeovers, porkulus programs, universal healthcare and the like). That way, the population doesn’t see what’s happening to them until too late.

But here’s Chavez out using that forbidden word and pointing it right at Obama, who is probably on the phone with good old Hugo right now going, “Dude, I’m getting there, you just gotta give me some time!”

Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez gleefully declared Friday that President Obama may have no choice but to turn to socialism because capitalism in America has “failed.”

In pure economic numbers, considering the fact that our GDP is about 40 times larger than Venezuela, he really doesn’t have much to say. Regarding our supposed failure, I direct you to the immortal words of the CDB:

Well the eagle’s been flying slow and the flag’s been flying low
And a lot of people are saying that America’s fixing to fall
But speaking just for me and some people from Tennessee
We got a thing or two to tell you all
This lady may have stumbled but she ain’t never fell
And if the Russians don’t believe that they can all go straight to hell
We’re gonna put her feet back on the path of righteousness
And then God bless America again

You can substitute ‘Russians’ with whatever anti-American faction you want to put in there (Iranians, scientology loons, liberals, Keith Olbermann, etc).

In a plea evoking Darth Vader’s attempt to turn Luke Skywalker to the dark side, Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez on Friday urged President Obama to join the socialist movement.

“I recommend to Obama — they’re criticizing him because they say he’s moving towards socialism — come Obama, ally with us on the path to socialism, it’s the only road,” he said on Venezuelan state television, according to a Bloomberg report.

That entire quote is irrelevant except for one point - did they just liken Hugo Chavez to Darth Vader? Frigging hilarious.

Of course, that would make Obama Luke Skywalker, which really doesn’t fit. The only common ground I can find between the two is that they both whine a lot.

Tuesday Blog Watch: PUMA Pundit

March 3rd, 2009 · 2 Comments

The PUMA people have a bone to pick with Obama. Founded by some legitimately disgruntled Hillary supporters in 2008, the Party Unity My Ass brigade is firmly anti-Obama which is good enough for me, especially with some of the stuff they come up with.

On that topic, I wanted to share today’s post about Obama’s lack of concern over the nosediving economy.

We’ve long suspected that Obama is inept and clueless as to how the economy works, but now he has opened his mouth and our suspicions have been confirmed.
[…]
President Barack Obama is comparing the stock market to the daily tracking polls used during campaigns, saying that paying too close attention to Wall Street’s “fits and starts” could lead to bad long-term policy.
Obama spoke to reporters Tuesday after meeting in the Oval Office with visiting British Prime Minister Gordon Brown. Obama said he is not measuring policies against “the day-to-day gyrations of the stock market,” but by whether lending is flowing more freely, businesses are investing and the unemployed are going back to work.

Didn’t the moronic USA voter pool elect Obama because he was going to be this big shining light that would fix the economy? How appropriate is it then that him and his all-star team of tax cheats are sitting around scratching their heads while the market lurches drunkenly toward the edge of the cliff.

I find it funny that he says that he doesn’t care about the market numbers and likens it to opinion polls. Unfortunately, as PUMA Pundit puts it, opinion polls are just polls; the market is real people and their real money.

I’ll bet if the DJIA was up 1800 since inauguration instead of down that same amount, though, Obama would be touting his economic genius. What a bloody hypocrite.

Obama To Moscow: Who Needs A Strategic Missile Shield? Not Us!

March 3rd, 2009 · No Comments

This is just one of the 250 million reasons why electing a community organizer with no foreign policy experience as president is a horrendously bad idea.

Obama, exercising his “diplomatic muscles,” has tucked his tail between his legs and offered to meekly destroy our plans for a missile defense shield in Europe since Russia is offended by it.

President Obama offered to consider scrapping plans for a missile defense shield in Europe if Russia helps rein in Iran’s nuclear program, the Russian newspaper Kommersant reported.

The article said Obama wrote to Russian President Dmitry Medvedev to tell him Russia’s aid in resolving the threat from Iran would make the missile shield plans unnecessary, according to an account from Russian news agency RIA Novosti.

A senior administration official told FOX News that Obama sent a letter to Medvedev but “we won’t comment on the specifics.”

Obama inherited plans to build the system in Poland and the Czech Republic from the Bush administration, but the new administration has equivocated over the project. Though the plans were put in place to deter nations like Iran and North Korea from launching attacks and developing nuclear weapons, Russia has interpreted the planned installation as a threat.

Russia’s “help” on Iran? What is Russia going to do to “help?” Make greeting cards? Send baskets of vodka? Teach small children how to talk angrily? I mean, honestly, what do we gain from this? Nothing. What do we lose? One of our best chances to create a shield to protect ourselves and our allies from ballistic nuclear attacks.

The missile shield isn’t just for North Korea and Iran. This shield would protect us from the increasingly antagonistic Russia that looks like it’s trying to start Soviet Union 2.0, which is why they are offended by this.

Us accepting “help” from Russia in exchange for us sacrificing our national defense and the defense of our allies is like a farmer telling the fox he’ll take the fence away from the chicken house if the fox helps him kill a few squirrels. At the end of the day, the fox is still inside your fence.

Obama Continues Trend of Stupid Decisions, Puts Biden In Charge of Stimulus

February 23rd, 2009 · 1 Comment

Right now, Sir Porkulus the Bloated is a wild, galloping horse. He’s headed straight over the cliff of depression and into the river of communism. We need someone with a firm hand to grab the reins and attempt to steer this monster in a direction that at least slows the decay of America instead of accelerating it.

Obama thinks he has just the man: perpetual gaffe-machine Joe Biden. Yeah, I can see the intelligence behind this already. Didn’t the Democrats hiss and scream about Cheney having too much authority under the Bush admin? But it’s OK for Biden to handle this, it seems. Typical liberal hypocrisy.

President Obama has turned to his own vice president to oversee implementation of the $787 billion economic stimulus package, part of which will be available this week for state Medicaid programs.

Obama announced his decision before the National Governors Association in Washington on Monday, saying Vice President Joe Biden will help ensure the distribution of the money is not just swift, “but also efficient and effective.”

“The fact that I’m asking my vice president to personally lead this effort shows how important it is for our country and future to get this right,” he said.

Biden, in his new role, would meet regularly with key members of the Cabinet, governors and mayor to make sure their efforts are speedy and effective. He is expected to make regular reports to the president that will be posted online at www.recovery.gov.

Just when you think Obama can’t do anything more ridiculous, that he’s met his weekly quota for stupidity, he goes and tops himself. Biden is an idiot, and a 35 year veteran of the political machine. The Chosen One just put one of the biggest red-tape bureaucrats in Washington in charge of distributing the largest amount of money ever spewed forth by our venomous Federal government in the history of the world.

Good call, Comrade. That’s “change we can believe in” right there.

Obama: Comrades, You Must Not Listen to Limbaugh

January 24th, 2009 · No Comments

Are you kidding me? Did Bush tell people to not listen to Franken or Olberman or the Huffington Post? Of course not. The point of the First Amendment is that people have the freedoms to say what they want and listen to who they want. Obama, of course, doesn’t really believe in the Constitution and the Bill of Rights since he thinks it doesn’t do enough to “share the wealth.” So what does he care?

President Obama warned Republicans on Capitol Hill today that they need to quit listening to radio king Rush Limbaugh if they want to get along with Democrats and the new administration.

“You can’t just listen to Rush Limbaugh and get things done,” he told top GOP leaders, whom he had invited to the White House to discuss his nearly $1 trillion stimulus package.

Comrade Obama is already starting to stretch his communist legs. How dare he think that he has the right to tell people who they should or should not listen to.

That wasn’t the most derisive comment of the day…

That wasn’t Obama’s only jab at Republicans today.

While discussing the stimulus package with top lawmakers in the White House’s Roosevelt Room, President Obama shot down a critic with a simple message.

“I won,” he said, according to aides who were briefed on the meeting. “I will trump you on that.”

justin_hart on Twitter had the best comment on this:

Obama recap: Day 1 was wonderful. Day 2 internal fumbles, press angst. Day 3 No questions on lobbyists. Day 4 I won, get out of my way

So much for Obama’s “working together” theory or his “bipartisan” platform that doesn’t involve all this bickering back and forth. Four days, and his true colors are showing. Anyone brave enough to consider what he’s going to be like in four years?

He Enters Rome Like a Conquering Hero. But What Has He Conquered?

January 20th, 2009 · No Comments

I feel a lot like Raymond III of Tripoli, saying “Long Live the King” to Guy of Lusignan. Hopefully he doesn’t lead us into a Battle of Hattin (both literally and figuratively, unfortunately).

It just goes to show that Senator McComb had the right idea in Timecop:

Elections are won with television.
You don’t need the press, endorsements.
You don’t even need the truth.
You need money.

Tree Huggers Should Be Sobbing: Obamessiah Crowning Will Spew 575 Million Pounds of CO2

January 18th, 2009 · No Comments

So if you were to believe the campaign promises, Barack Obama is the savior of the planet, quite literally when it comes to the environment. He stated repeatedly that global warming was a top issue for him and over and over again explained his plans for huge climate change initiatives and his wish to smash corporations that refuse to submit to socialistic cap and trade systems (not in those exact words, but hey, it’s the thought that counts).

Apparently, though, his climate change position only takes effect AFTER the inauguration:

Here’s an environmental impact story you’re not likely to see in the mainstream media. Neither NBC’s chief environmental affair correspondent Anne Thompson, nor ABC correspondent Bill Blakemore nor CBS “60 Minutes” correspondent Scott Pelley – all of whom have been eager over the years to expose so-called crimes against the environment – have rushed to report on the massive carbon footprint of the Obama inauguration.

But a comprehensive new study by The Institute for Liberty (IFL) took an in-depth look at each component of the Jan. 20 inauguration in Washington, D.C., and estimated that 575 million pounds of carbon dioxide will be emitted in the atmosphere for the inauguration – which is roughly equal to what the average American household would produce in 57,598 years.

Speaking with the Business & Media Institute, IFL President Andrew Langer noted the hypocrisy of the event having so large an environmental impact, especially in light of the strong stands promoting the case for manmade global warming of many of Obama’s cabinet picks. Even Secretary of State Designate Hillary Clinton characterized climate change as a national “security threat.”

See the study: http://thechillingeffect.org/wp-content/themes/paalam-11/CarbonBigfoot.pdf

And the full story from The Business and Media Institute.

What??? A liberal being a hypocrite? Say it ain’t so! Just a classic case of business as usual, “do as I say not as I do” democrat politics. Obama wants to appoint an avowed socialist as a “climate czar” to lead the “global mission” of greenhouse gas reductions, but he has no qualms with his crowning as the Savior of the World putting out half a billion pounds of carbon.

Dems to Obama: Tax Cuts Are ‘Misdirected’

January 9th, 2009 · 1 Comment

WASHINGTON – President-elect Barack Obama’s proposed tax cuts ran into opposition Thursday from senators in his own party who said they wouldn’t do much to stimulate the economy or create jobs. Senators from both parties agreed that Congress should do something to stimulate the economy. But Democratic senators emerging from a private meeting of the Senate Finance Committee criticized business and individual tax cuts in Obama’s stimulus plan.

The only part of this story that matters is in the headline: “Democrats criticize Obama.”

Oh, this is going to be a fun four years; we get to watch the liberal hate machine gobble this ’savior’ up and then we’ll have a front-row seat to see the party collapse in on itself.

2012, baby. 2012.

Reid to Obama: You Ain’t the Boss of Me

January 7th, 2009 · No Comments

Democrats must be “very, very careful” to avoid overreaching and will not rubber-stamp President-elect Obama’s policies, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) said Tuesday.

In an interview with The Hill, Reid said it is essential for Obama and congressional Democrats to work closely with Republicans in the new Congress. He added that 2009 is very different from 1993, the last time Democrats controlled both Congress and the White House.

[…]

Reid, who lambasted the GOP-led Congress for being a rubber stamp for President Bush, indicated that he will not bow to the Obama administration.

Reid stated, “I don’t believe in the executive power trumping everything… I believe in our Constitution, three separate but equal branches of government.”

“If Obama steps over the bounds, I will tell him. … I do not work for Barack Obama. I work with him,” he said.

Excellent. Nothing is better than seeing the Democrats getting ready to tear themselves apart.

Obama Admin Digs Up Another Clinton Fossil

January 5th, 2009 · No Comments

According to Fox News, the Obamadministration has named Leon Panetta to run the CIA.

Bill Clinton’s former chief of staff Leon Panetta has been tapped to head the CIA in President-elect Barack Obama’s administration, causing surprise and a bit of consternation by several individuals involved in the intelligence community.

Two Democratic sources close to the transition process said Monday that Panetta, who was a congressman and one-time head of the White House Office of Management and Budget, is Obama’s pick to replace Michael Hayden at the CIA.

Change we can believe in? Digging up Clinton’s 70-year-old Chief of Staff and putting him in charge of the intelligence community? Oh, that’s change alright; we go from someone who intimately knows the intelligence landscape (Hayden) to someone with ZERO experience in intel.

All change isn’t good.
