It’s in England today, but I wouldn’t be surprised to see this here tomorrow.

Two schoolboys were given detention after refusing to kneel down and ‘pray to Allah’ during a religious education lesson.

Parents were outraged that the two boys from year seven (11 to 12-year-olds) were punished for not wanting to take part in the practical demonstration of how Allah is worshipped.

They said forcing their children to take part in the exercise at Alsager High School, near Stoke-on-Trent - which included wearing Muslim headgear - was a breach of their human rights.

So basically, in some absurd display of political correctness and fear of offending Islam, this teacher forced her entire class to not just learn about Islam (which is fine), not do something like watch a prayer or hear a presentation from a Muslim (still ok), but dress up and ACTUALLY pray to Allah as if it was their faith (which it wasn’t).

That is wholly unacceptable and an absolute travesty. Most of the parents, it seems, agreed:

One parent, Sharon Luinen, said: “This isn’t right, it’s taking things too far.

“I understand that they have to learn about other religions. I can live with that but it is taking it a step too far to be punished because they wouldn’t join in Muslim prayer.

“Making them pray to Allah, who isn’t who they worship, is wrong and what got me is that they were told they were being disrespectful.

Another parent Karen Williams said: “I am absolutely furious my daughter was made to take part in it and I don’t find it acceptable.

“I haven’t got a problem with them teaching my child other religions and a small amount of information doesn’t do any harm.

“But not only did they have to pray, the teacher had gone into the class and made them watch a short film and then said ‘we are now going out to pray to Allah’.

And the best of the comments:

“My child has been forced to pray to Allah in a school lesson.” The grandfather of one of the pupils in the class said: “It’s absolutely disgusting, there’s no other way of putting it.

“My daughter and a lot of other mothers are furious about their children being made to kneel on the floor and pray to Islam. If they didn’t do it they were given detention.

“But if Muslims were asked to go to church on Sunday and take Holy Communion there would be war.”

Isn’t that the truth, probably literally. Could you just imagine the outrage that would spew forth from radical Islam if students were forced to say the Hail Mary?

Britain is falling further and further into the cesspool of being an Islamofacism apologist. We need to take heed that this sort of garbage doesn’t jump the ocean and begin making an appearance in our schools. As Michelle Malkin would say, reason #487,209,286 to home school your kids.

The comments came after Lee attacked Eastwood for not including any black soldiers in Flags of our Fathers.

Lee said Eastwood’s Iwo Jima movie “Flags of Our Fathers” lacked a single African-American.

“There were many African-Americans who survived that war and who were upset at Clint for not having one [in ‘Flags’ or ‘Letters From Iwo Jima’]. That was his version: The negro soldier did not exist. I have a different version,” Lee said recently at the Cannes film festival in France.

In response, Eastwood told the Guardian: “A guy like him should shut his face.”

However, as history buffs know:

As for “Flags of Our Fathers,” [Eastwood] says there was a small detachment of black troops on Iwo Jima as a part of a munitions company, “but they didn’t raise the flag. The story is ‘Flags of Our Fathers,’ the famous flag-raising picture, and they didn’t do that. If I go ahead and put an African-American actor in there, people’d go, ‘This guy’s lost his mind.’ I mean, it’s not accurate.”

This is more revisionist history; it’s like the flag raising on 9/11, where it was three white guys putting it up, but the SP crowd demanded that they make the statues one white guy, one black guy and one hispanic guy. I mean, come on; there has to be a limit on this kind of stuff. You can’t rewrite history to make it politically correct. It is a disgrace to those who were there and for those that follow that are force-fed this touchy-feely rewritten garbage.

Good for Eastwood for standing up to Lee.

Apparently, Supreme Overlord of the League of Extraordinary Left-Wing Billionares George Soros funded a good part of the study.

According to the study, 650,000 civilians were killed. Now, the New England Journal of Medicine estimates that the actual toll is less than a quarter of that…150,000.

I find this exceedingly annoying, because the timing of the release of the study was intentionally set to coincide with the 2006 midterms, and the Dems used these most likely doctored numbers to springboard into the House and Senate, and we see the results of THAT little mess. The Democrats are so delusioned that now they are calling a guy with three years of national political experience their new champion.

On top of that, the researchers of the project were admittedly anti-war from the start.

Someone asked me last week why Soros doesn’t just run for President with all this money. This is why; he can do a whole heck of a lot more damage to the country by funding every far-left organization in existence than he can making some knee-jerk bid to become President.

Anti-war and anti-Bush moonbat Cindy Sheehan has quit as the “face” of the anti-war movement, in her words. Apparently, she is also upset with the Democratic party, and so she is leaving that too. It says a lot about how messed up the Democratic party is today when they have a crazy activist who fits all their criteria (leftist, yells, hates Bush, hates Iraq) and she’s still “leaving the party.” I’m sure Ralph Nader will be happy to have her vote; that should give him something like a 200% increase in his voter base.

Let me get back to Sheehan, though, before I get too far off base; correct me if I’m wrong, but when has Sheehan ever been the “face” of anything? The last I checked, she was a shrill leftist dishonoring the memory of her son while attacking the Bush administration and consorting with tyrannical leaders such as Fidel Castro and Hugo Chavez. This whole “quitting” thing is, as most of the thing she does are, just another publicity stunt. I think that we can just let her fade into obscurity and be remembered as that one angry woman who yelled about a lot of stuff (well, make that the second angry woman, after Eve Ensler, of course).

Good riddance. Now, if we could just get Michael Moore and Rosie O’Donnell to close their collective mouths, we could really start to put a dent into the leftist hate machine.
