Illinois Prison Leading Contender to House Gitmo Detainees

November 15th, 2009 · No Comments

It’s a bad enough idea to close Gitmo. It’s a far worse idea to bring the terrorists currently imprisoned there to our shores. And it’s a monumental display of stupidity to bring them into Illinois and dump them off 150 miles from Chicago and hope for the best.

Of course, if the decision is between national security and appeasing terrorists, we know which direction the Obama administration is headed.

A prison complex 150 miles from Chicago has emerged as the leading contender to house detainees currently being held at Guantanamo Bay, senior administration officials tell ABC News.

Officials from the Pentagon and the Federal Bureau of Prisons will soon visit lllinois’ Thomson Correctional Center to inspect the maximum security prison, which was opened in 2001 but has never been fully utilized because of state budget issues.

The idiocy of this dumbfounds me. Bringing terrorists to our shores will encourage terrorist attacks and create a hotbed of terrorism. It’s not safe. It’s not smart. It’s not good for national security. Gitmo is the ideal place for this prisoners of war, because that’s what they are.

These are not criminals that have been locked up for robbing a bank or stealing a car or killing someone. These are enemies in our ongoing struggle against radical global Jihad and should be treated as such. Prisoners of war are not placed in civilian areas. Prisoners of war are guarded by soldiers, away from the citizens of the country. There are reasons for this; terrorists are dangerous, and their compatriots are dangerous too.

If you put terrorists in a civilian prison, you risk the lives of the civilians near them. It’s the natural duty of any prisoner of war to try to escape. As well, it’s the natural reaction by the comrades of said imprisoned warrior to try and break them out.

Let’s say a terrorist breaks out or is broken out of Gitmo (not possible, but I’m speaking hypothetically). Where do they go? First, they have to fight their way through a U.S. military force. Then, they’re on an island called “Cuba” that is still not the United States mainland.

Now, since Obama is dead-set on closing Guantanamo Bay and moving the terrorists to our shores, if there is an attack or a breakout, guess what? We now have terrorists running amok in our country.

In the interests of full disclosure, I live in the Northern Illinois area and work in Chicago. I don’t want to see this area become infested with terrorists. Yes, I have a vested interest and I’m biased. If you bring these guys up here, this area will become ground zero for terrorist cells, with Chicago and the tallest building in the country (Sears Tower) just a quick jaunt down I-88 away.

This is another of Obama’s naive gestures designed to appease terrorists at the expense of our national security. It’s just another mark in the column of reasons why anointing a “community organizer” as the head of the nation was a tragically bad idea.

Congrats America - The War on Terror is Over!

August 6th, 2009 · No Comments

“Go on out there get those boys down off the fence, they’re packing their bags.”

According to the Dear Leader, Comrade Obama, and his Glorious Administration For the Good Of Amerika, we are no longer at war with jihadists, we are no longer fighting a global war on terror, and hell, terrorism doesn’t even really exist.

After all, we’re no longer allowed to use those words since they aren’t accurate to our current situation, per the Department of Homeland Insecurity.

It’s official. The U.S. is no longer engaged in a “war on terrorism.” Neither is it fighting “jihadists” or in a “global war.”

President Obama’s top homeland security and counterterrorism official took all three terms off the table of acceptable words inside the White House during a speech Thursday at the Center for Strategic and International Studies, a Washington think tank.

“The President does not describe this as a ‘war on terrorism,’” said John Brennan, head of the White House homeland security office, who outlined a “new way of seeing” the fight against terrorism.

So let me get this straight…we’re no longer “at war” with terrorism, and we’re outlining a “new way of seeing” our “fight” against terrorism. Sounds like surrender to me. We’re letting the terrorists win by no longer acknowledging that we are actually fighting them. Does Obama think if he ignores them they’ll just got away?

Those 3000 people that died on 9/11? Yeah, that was just some sort of domestic dispute by one disgruntled group. We don’t need to be at war with ALL terrorists, you see, since it’s just this one little group, Al Qaeda, that has grievances with us. Hezbollah, Hamas, PLO…all those are really irrelevant now, according to the DHS. Nevermind the fact that all of these groups are officially recognized terrorist organizations. I guess we’re just on a live and let live policy with all of those evil people.

There are NO legitimate reasons to remove these terms, other than capitulation to the far left and the idea that if we are “nice” to terrorists, they’ll be “nice” to us. Who, honestly, is offended by these terms? Jihadists? Terrorists? Are we really THAT concerned with the feelings of people who, if given the chance, would kill any of of us without a moment’s hesitation, sure in the fact that their slaughter of an “infidel” would assure them a place in their version of heaven.

Mr. Brennan said that to say the U.S. is fighting “jihadists” is wrongheaded because it is using “a legitimate term, ‘jihad,’ meaning to purify oneself or to wage a holy struggle for a moral goal” which “risks giving these murderers the religious legitimacy they desperately seek but in no way deserve.”

“Worse, it risks reinforcing the idea that the United States is somehow at war with Islam itself,” Mr. Brennan said.

As for the “war on terrorism,” Mr. Brennan said the administration is not going to say that “because ‘terrorism’ is but a tactic — a means to an end, which in al Qaedas case is global domination by an Islamic caliphate.”

Terrorism is just a “tactic?” Then I guess a “suicide bombing” is just an “action” and cutting off the head of an infidel on video is a “statement.” I’m glad that the DHS has shown an understanding of the English language, but in this case, this “tactic” is being used across the world to kill Americans (and countless others). It deserves to be treated as the greatest threat to life and liberty in the world right now, not kicked under the stairs like the crazy cousin you hide when the family comes over.

Failing to recognize terrorism, radical jihad and Islamofacists as the huge threat they represent is a massively stupid gesture on the Obama administration’s part.

Islamic Extremist Organization Meets In Chicago Suburb Today

July 19th, 2009 · No Comments

No wonder the weather is so bad in Chicagoland this week…violent Muslim extremists are in town trying to recruit Westerners to join their crusade against capitalism and for Sharia Law.

A group committed to establishing an international Islamic empire and reportedly linked to Al Qaeda is stepping up its Western recruitment efforts by holding its first official conference in the U.S.

Hizb ut-Tahrir is a global Sunni network with reported ties to confessed 9/11 mastermind Khalid Sheikh Mohammed and Al Qaeda in Iraq’s onetime leader Abu Musab al-Zarqawi. It has operated discreetly in the U.S. for decades.

Now, it is coming out of the shadows and openly hosting a July 19 conference entitled, “The Fall of Capitalism and the Rise of Islam,” at a posh Hilton hotel in a suburb of Chicago.

Hizb ut-Tahrir insists that it does not engage in terrorism, and it is not recognized by the State Department as a known terror group.

But some terrorism experts say it may be even more dangerous than many groups that are on the terror list.

“Hizb ut-Tahrir is one of the oldest, largest indoctrinating organizations for the ideology known as jihadism,” Walid Phares, director of the Future of Terrorism Project at the Foundation for Defense of Democracies, told FOXNews.com.

Phares said that Hizb ut-Tahrir, rather than training members to carry out terrorist acts like Al Qaeda, focuses instead on indoctrinating youths between ages of 9 and 18 to absorb the ideology that calls for the formation of an empire — or “khilafah” — that will rule according to Islamic law and condones any means to achieve it, including militant jihad.

Hizb ut-Tahrir often says that its indoctrination “prepares the infantry” that groups like Al Qaeda take into battle, Phares said.

I’m hideously disgusted that this had to occur 30 miles from me (I’ll probably end up going past it on my way into the city today, too). This group has one mission: Islamic rule, everywhere. I don’t need to explain to you how dangerous that is. Sharia Law is one of the most barbaric and vile “laws” on the planet and it cannot be allowed to spread.

See, this is one of those stealth organizations. They claim to be “non-violent” or whatever, and so idiot liberals and touchy-feely “acceptance” people say we should hear them out and let them meet and do all these sorts of things. In reality, they are just as dangerous as Al Qaeda, if not more so. We now have terrorists who are gutsy enough to meet ON OUR SOIL, publicly, because they know they won’t face repercussions.

Change We Can Believe In? Maybe Obama will be their keynote speaker; after all, we ARE more of a Muslim nation than a Christian nation, right Barack?

Report: Christian Man Raped, Murdered For Refusing Islam Conversion

June 14th, 2009 · No Comments

“Religion of Peace,” right?

A young Christian man was raped and brutally murdered in Pakistan for refusing to convert to Islam, and police are doing nothing about it, the victim’s brother and minister told FOXNews.com.

Pakistani police reportedly found the body of Tariq “Litto” Mashi Ghauri — a 28-year-old university student in Sargodha, Pakistan — lying dead in a canal outside a rural village in Punjab Province on May 15. He had been raped and stabbed at least five times.

[…]

The Rev. Haroon Bhatti, a Christian clergyman in the village and a friend of the Ghauri family, said Cheema’s three brothers came to Litto Ghauri’s house on May 11 and gave him an ultimatum: Marry their sister and convert to Islam.

Ghauri agreed to the marriage but refused to accept Islam, and the brothers kidnapped him at gunpoint and drove him to a remote farmhouse, where they tortured and murdered him, the minister said.

“On that farmhouse — four days there — we all, Christians and family, were searching for him,” the Rev. Bhatti said. “I was with him. I was searching for him.”

After police discovered the body, Ghauri’s death was declared a homicide and the family filed paperwork with the Atta Shaheed police station in their small village, Adda 44SB. But Ghauri’s brother said police still have not arrested the alleged killers and have refused to meet with his family.

Let’s just extend an “open hand” to these folks, ala B. Hussein Obama, and see if we can work this all out! Big group hug!!!

Radical Jihadists and Islamofacists CANNOT be negotiated with. Period.

Five Gitmo Prisoners Claim Responsibility For 9/11 Attack

March 10th, 2009 · No Comments

I wonder how the liberals are going to take this…after all, they think everyone is Gitmo is innocent and being mistreated.

Turns out, the people we arrested for plotting 9/11 ACTUALLY DID IT. Wow, how surprising (not).

The five detainees at Guantanamo Bay charged with plotting the September 11, 2001 attacks have filed a document accepting responsibility for the deaths of nearly 3,000 people and expressing pride at their accomplishment, The New York Times reported late Monday.

The document, which the newspaper said may be released publicly on Tuesday, describes the five men as the “9/11 Shura Council,” and says their actions were an offering to God, according to excerpts of the document read to a reporter by a government official, the report said.

“‘To us,’ the official read, ‘they are not accusations. To us they are a badge of honor, which we carry with honor,’” the paper said.

It’s a badge of honor for them to kill civilians. THIS is why you cannot negotiate with these people. You cannot convince them to leave us alone. You cannot ‘make nice’ with them. They will not stop, they will not surrender and they will not end their Jihad until we’re all dead. And that is why we must never let down our guard and why we must fight tooth and nail against these radicals.

I can’t find the full text of the document (it’s supposed to be released today and I’ll post it then), but they read a larger portion on FNC this morning and it’s just maniacal.

Teacher Gives Detention to Students Who Refuse to Pray to Allah

July 5th, 2008 · 1 Comment

It’s in England today, but I wouldn’t be surprised to see this here tomorrow.

Two schoolboys were given detention after refusing to kneel down and ‘pray to Allah’ during a religious education lesson.

Parents were outraged that the two boys from year seven (11 to 12-year-olds) were punished for not wanting to take part in the practical demonstration of how Allah is worshipped.

They said forcing their children to take part in the exercise at Alsager High School, near Stoke-on-Trent - which included wearing Muslim headgear - was a breach of their human rights.

So basically, in some absurd display of political correctness and fear of offending Islam, this teacher forced her entire class to not just learn about Islam (which is fine), not do something like watch a prayer or hear a presentation from a Muslim (still ok), but dress up and ACTUALLY pray to Allah as if it was their faith (which it wasn’t).

That is wholly unacceptable and an absolute travesty. Most of the parents, it seems, agreed:

One parent, Sharon Luinen, said: “This isn’t right, it’s taking things too far.

“I understand that they have to learn about other religions. I can live with that but it is taking it a step too far to be punished because they wouldn’t join in Muslim prayer.

“Making them pray to Allah, who isn’t who they worship, is wrong and what got me is that they were told they were being disrespectful.

Another parent Karen Williams said: “I am absolutely furious my daughter was made to take part in it and I don’t find it acceptable.

“I haven’t got a problem with them teaching my child other religions and a small amount of information doesn’t do any harm.

“But not only did they have to pray, the teacher had gone into the class and made them watch a short film and then said ‘we are now going out to pray to Allah’.

And the best of the comments:

“My child has been forced to pray to Allah in a school lesson.” The grandfather of one of the pupils in the class said: “It’s absolutely disgusting, there’s no other way of putting it.

“My daughter and a lot of other mothers are furious about their children being made to kneel on the floor and pray to Islam. If they didn’t do it they were given detention.

“But if Muslims were asked to go to church on Sunday and take Holy Communion there would be war.”

Isn’t that the truth, probably literally. Could you just imagine the outrage that would spew forth from radical Islam if students were forced to say the Hail Mary?

Britain is falling further and further into the cesspool of being an Islamofacism apologist. We need to take heed that this sort of garbage doesn’t jump the ocean and begin making an appearance in our schools. As Michelle Malkin would say, reason #487,209,286 to home school your kids.

Supreme Court gives captured terrorists same rights as U.S. citizens

June 12th, 2008 · No Comments

This is disgusting.

WASHINGTON - The Supreme Court ruled Thursday that foreign terrorism suspects held at Guantanamo Bay have rights under the Constitution to challenge their detention in U.S. civilian courts.

In its third rebuke of the Bush administration’s treatment of prisoners, the court ruled 5-4 that the government is violating the rights of prisoners being held indefinitely and without charges at the U.S. naval base in Cuba. The court’s liberal justices were in the majority.

This decision is an absolute slap in the face to the prison, as well as the soldiers who worked to put those terrorists there. Obviously, I am a big fan of Guantanamo Bay, and this takes much of the purpose away from the place. If we can’t try enemy combatants as enemies, what is the point?

These men are not in any way shape or form guaranteed the rights of American citizens and it is deplorable for the Supreme Court to rule that they do. They are the enemy, with most of them captured on the field of battle while trying to kill American soldiers! I can just imagine the justices’ thought process: “Sure, let’s give them the rights of habeas corpus, what’s the worst that could happen???”

We are now living in a world where the average American citizen’s rights are being trampled on in the name of political correctness and national security, but we are going to make sure that the captured terrorists, who would try to kill us in a heartbeat if given the chance, are being afforded rights that they neither have claim to nor deserve.

In dissent, Chief Justice John Roberts criticized his colleagues for striking down what he called “the most generous set of procedural protections ever afforded aliens detained by this country as enemy combatants.”

Justices Samuel Alito, Antonin Scalia and Clarence Thomas also dissented.

Scalia said the nation is “at war with radical Islamists” and that the court’s decision “will make the war harder on us. It will almost certainly cause more Americans to be killed.”

So, with the four conservatives voting to still consider the enemy, well, the enemy, it’s easy to figure out who wanted to give them rights: the liberals.

Justices Stephen Breyer, Ruth Bader Ginsburg, David Souter and John Paul Stevens joined [Anthony] Kennedy to form the majority.

So basically, we had the conservatives versus the liberals, with Kennedy, yet again, providing the activist swing vote that helped these lunatics to attack the Constitution and contribute to the ever-growing mountain of political correctness and radical Islam acceptance that is pervading the country. Now all we need is the Hamas-endorsed Obama as president and the transformation into a official apologist country for Islamofacism will be complete.

Hamas Cleric: ‘Rome Will Be Conquered by Islam’

April 22nd, 2008 · 2 Comments

A sermon last Friday by a prominent Muslim cleric and Hamas member of the Palestinian parliament openly declared that “the capital of the Catholics, or the Crusader capital,” would soon be conquered by Islam.

The fiery sermon, delivered by Yunis al-Astal and aired on Hamas’ Al-Aqsa TV, predicted that Rome would become “an advanced post for the Islamic conquests, which will spread though Europe in its entirety, and then will turn to the two Americas, even Eastern Europe.”

“Allah has chosen you for Himself and for His religion,” al-Astal preached, “so that you will serve as the engine pulling this nation to the phase of succession, security and consolidation of power, and even to conquests through da’wa and military conquests of the capitals of the entire world.

“Very soon, Allah willing, Rome will be conquered, just like Constantinople was, as was prophesized by our prophet Muhammad,” he added.

Right.

So…about this whole Islam “religion of peace” thing and them wanting to “co-exist;” I hear it from the MSM and the Far Left frequently, but it doesn’t seem that the Islamofacists agree with that perception of their intentions now does it?

Muslim Clerics Declare Holy War on GMT

April 21st, 2008 · No Comments

So a handful of Muslim scientists and clerics have decided that GMT is unacceptable, because it is wrong for one country (England) to impose a set of time zones on everyone else in the world.

Instead, they propose that, in all fairness, the only right thing to do is let THEM dictate the basis of time zones to everyone else in the world, based, not surprisingly, on Mecca.

Muslim scientists and clerics have called for the adoption of Mecca time to replace GMT, arguing that the Saudi city is the true centre of the Earth.

Mecca is the direction all Muslims face when they perform their daily prayers.

The call was issued at a conference held in the Gulf state of Qatar under the title: Mecca, the Centre of the Earth, Theory and Practice.

One geologist argued that unlike other longitudes, Mecca’s was in perfect alignment to magnetic north.

He said the English had imposed GMT on the rest of the world by force when Britain was a big colonial power, and it was about time that changed.

A prominent cleric, Sheikh Youssef al-Qaradawy, said modern science had at last provided evidence that Mecca was the true centre of the Earth; proof, he said, of the greatness of the Muslim “qibla” - the Arabic word for the direction Muslims turn to when they pray.

The meeting also reviewed what has been described as a Mecca watch, the brainchild of a French Muslim.

The watch is said to rotate anti-clockwise and is supposed to help Muslims determine the direction of Mecca from any point on Earth.

The meeting in Qatar is part of a popular trend in some Muslim societies of seeking to find Koranic precedents for modern science.

It is called “Ijaz al-Koran”, which roughly translates as the “miraculous nature of the holy text”.

The underlying belief is that scientific truths were also revealed in the Muslim holy book, and it is the work of scholars to unearth and publicise the textual evidence.

But the movement is not without its critics, who say that the notion that modern science was revealed in the Koran confuses spiritual truth, which is constant, and empirical truth, which depends on the state of science at any given point in time.

So let me get this straight; it is ok to set time zones based on the religious reasons of one group, but not based on a location set at zero degrees longitude and used for hundreds of years?

Maybe it would be a good idea to have Sharia versions of time zones. Instead of those boring names of east, central and mountain time zones, they could be renamed the stoning, flogging and hanging zones!

And here I thought Jihad meant ‘Holy War’

January 22nd, 2008 · No Comments

Apparently, it doesn’t, at least according to a textbook being taught in some California middle schools.

The textbook says, among other things, that:

An Islamic “jihad” is an effort by Muslims to convince “others to take up worthy causes, such as funding medical research,” according to a middle school textbook used in California and other states.

The word ‘jihad,’ mind you, literally means “struggle,” and for centuries represented Islam attacking “heretics” and “infidels.” Apologists for Islamofacists claim that today is has a more spiritual context, that it means a war against sin and evil, but Osama Bin Laden himself has invoked the term numerous times when referring to the “Western crusaders” that he wants all of Islam to destroy.

This is a religious term that caused the death of 3000 Americans on 9/11, and now we are misrepresenting it to kids in order to give them a rosy, sterile and politically correct portrait of Islam?

Now, on top of this flagrant misrepresentation of the term ‘jihad,’ where are all the crazed ’separation of church and state’ people at now? You would think this would be their bread and butter, a textbook forcing religious beliefs down the throats of children, but alas, since those religious beliefs are something other than Christianity, it’s all ok in their eyes.

Find a plaque of The Ten Commandments anywhere within 100 yards of a public building and they’ll be all over it, though.
