Great video, especially for anyone that thinks The Beloved Obamessiah has never swapped his positions on Iraq.

Embedded Reporters in Iraq See Success, Run for the Hills
July 24th, 2008 · No Comments
You would think that now that we are clearly winning the War in Iraq that the media should be reporting our success. After all, they’ve spent the last five years singing the defeat of the United States and it would only be fair for unbiased, professional representatives of the mainstream media should at least try to cover both sides.
Of course, since we have a lunatic fringe collection of neo-socialists bent on the destruction of America spoon feeding us ’spin’ every night, they are running from Iraq as fast as possible now that the surge is working.
Newsbusters has the full story:
The number of embedded reporters in Iraq has plummeted 74 percent over the past nine months, from 219 in September 2007 to a low of 58 in June, as U.S. troop casualties have plunged, according to Department Of Defense data analysis by CNSNews.com Staff Writer Kevin Mooney. U.S. casualties were down 84 percent in May and 75 percent in June from year-ago numbers, for example.
Amazing. US casualties drop, and suddenly the MSM has nothing to say about Iraq. How utterly unsurprising. These jackals in the MSM need to shed the sheep’s clothing and just admit to the American people what they are. They’re not out there to inform the public or serve the public good. They are sneakly little socialist spin doctors out to make sure everyone in America hates themselves and their country just as much as the reporters and editors do.
As columnist Paul Greenberg puts it, “For much of the American media, good news is no news.”

Iraq Violence at Lowest Level in Four Years
July 6th, 2008 · 2 Comments
BAGHDAD — Iraq’s prime minister said yesterday that the government has defeated terrorism in the country, a sign of growing confidence after recent crackdowns against Sunni extremists and Shiite militias.
Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki began the crackdowns to extend the authority of the government over areas in Baghdad and elsewhere that have largely been under the control of armed groups since the U.S.-led invasion in 2003.
“They were intending to besiege Baghdad and control it,” al-Maliki said. “But thanks to the will of the tribes, security forces, army and all Iraqis, we defeated them.”
Such attacks plagued Iraq after the U.S.-led invasion, but violence in the country has now fallen to its lowest level in four years. The change has been driven by the 2007 buildup of American forces, the Sunni tribal revolt against Al Qaeda in Iraq and al-Maliki’s crackdowns, among other factors.
WHAT!?!?!?!?! Progress in Iraq!?!??!! No, this cannot be true! The media said we are losing! The Democrats said we are losing! Were they not telling the truth!?!??! Perish the thought.
Seriously though, this is good news. I do object a bit to al-Maliki’s assertion that it was due to their military and their police (as if we weren’t sitting there babysitting them and taking care of the tough spots for the last five years), but at least they are moving in the right direction.
Amazingly enough, later in the article it even says that they are using some of their oil revenue to rebuild stuff in their country. Jeez, I’ve only been calling for them to do that for four years.

Obama To ‘Refine’ Iraq Policy…Maybe
July 3rd, 2008 · No Comments
Now he really can’t decide what he is doing. The Treasonous Times, though, had an interesting take on it. Instead of Obama flip-flopping on the issues, they said he is “staying flexible.”
Good God, what if a Republican had threatened to do what Obama is saying? Staying flexible? Sure, that’s how the Times would see it.
Rumor has it he also lost his temper at a local diner when the waitress brought him waffles. Kind of hit too close to home I guess.

650,000 Civ Casualties in Iraq? Yeah…right.
January 14th, 2008 · No Comments
Want to know why?
Apparently, Supreme Overlord of the League of Extraordinary Left-Wing Billionares George Soros funded a good part of the study.
According to the study, 650,000 civilians were killed. Now, the New England Journal of Medicine estimates that the actual toll is less than a quarter of that…150,000.
I find this exceedingly annoying, because the timing of the release of the study was intentionally set to coincide with the 2006 midterms, and the Dems used these most likely doctored numbers to springboard into the House and Senate, and we see the results of THAT little mess. The Democrats are so delusioned that now they are calling a guy with three years of national political experience their new champion.
On top of that, the researchers of the project were admittedly anti-war from the start.
I want to share a little love across the blogosphere at this point, because Tigerhawk has an extremely effective analysis of these revelations here.
Someone asked me last week why Soros doesn’t just run for President with all this money. This is why; he can do a whole heck of a lot more damage to the country by funding every far-left organization in existence than he can making some knee-jerk bid to become President.

The Iraq Story You Won’t See on TV
December 24th, 2007 · No Comments
The heart-warming story of a U.S. soldier who adopted an Iraqi boy against the odds.
MAUSTON, Wis. — Capt. Scott Southworth knew he’d face violence, political strife and blistering heat when he was deployed to one of Baghdad’s most dangerous areas. But he didn’t expect Ala’a Eddeen.
Ala’a was 9 years old, strong of will but weak of body _ he suffered from cerebral palsy and weighed just 55 pounds. He lived among about 20 kids with physical or mental disabilities at the Mother Teresa orphanage, under the care of nuns who preserved this small oasis in a dangerous place.
…
Then, around Christmas, a sister told Southworth that Ala’a was getting too big. He would have to move to a government-run facility within a year.
“Best case scenario was that he would stare at a blank wall for the rest of his life,” Southworth said.
To this day, he recalls the moment when he resolved that that would not happen.
“I’ll adopt him,” he said.
Stories like this are one the reasons my head explodes when I hear liberals calling our troops bloodthirsty lunatics. Major kudos to Southworth for going above and beyond to help this boy.
