I really don’t blame them. Iran is looking to wipe them out within seconds of getting their nuclear weapons online, so they really don’t have a choice but to defend themselves.

Unfortunately, it’s probably going to start WWIII.

The Israeli military is preparing itself to launch a massive aerial assault on Iran’s nuclear facilities within days of being given the go-ahead by its new government, the Times of London reported.

Among the steps taken to ready Israeli forces for what would be a risky raid requiring pinpoint aerial strikes are the acquisition of three Airborne Warning and Control (AWAC) aircraft and regional missions to simulate the attack.

Two nationwide civil defence drills will help to prepare the public for the retaliation that Israel could face.

“Israel wants to know that if its forces were given the green light they could strike at Iran in a matter of days, even hours. They are making preparations on every level for this eventuality. The message to Iran is that the threat is not just words,” one senior defense official told the Times.

My support for Israel unwavering. God be with you all.

After trying to defend himself over and over again during the campaign against accusations that he wanted to “sit with rogue nations without pre-conditions,” Obama has sent a video message to Iran suggesting that, well, we meet with them without pre-conditions.

Just amazing. Does this guy understand ANYTHING about foreign policy? Rhetorical question; we know the answer.

Sitting at the table with terrorist states only gives them credibility. The Great O, of course, feels like he should ignore 30 years of terrorism and terrorism support by Iran, just kick it under the table and let’s sit and talk like old friends. Never mind that whole “wipe Israel off the map” thing. Never mind the support they give to Al Qaeda and the weapons they are funneling into Iraq. Let’s just sit with them and have some tea and just be buddy-buddy.

Neville Chamberlain tried that a few years back. We see how well it worked. Obama is headed down the same road, only this time it’s out of arrogance as opposed to stupidity. Although there’s probably a good dose of that in here too, now that I think about it.

Barack Obama is reaching out to the Iranian people in a new video with Farsi subtitles, saying the U.S. is prepared to end years of strained relations if Tehran tones down its bellicose rhetoric.

“So in this season of new beginnings I would like to speak clearly to Iran’s leaders,” Obama said in the video. “We have serious differences that have grown over time. My administration is now committed to diplomacy that addresses the full range of issues before us, and to pursuing constructive ties among the United States, Iran and the international community.”

Full range of issues before us? How about we address Iran’s role in the deaths of American soldiers? How about we address their role in the 9/11 attacks? Maybe after we address THOSE issues (with an MOAB or two) we can come back address these “other” issues. This stupid, naive socialist steering our country makes me madder by the minute. You CANNOT negotiate with these people.

Another highlight from this mess:

“You, too, have a choice. The United States wants the Islamic Republic of Iran to take its rightful place in the community of nations,” Obama said. “You have that right, but it comes with real responsibilities, and that place cannot be reached through terror or arms, but rather through peaceful actions that demonstrate the true greatness of the Iranian people and civilization.”

Rightful place in the community of nations? Are you freaking SERIOUS? They don’t have a rightful place until they STOP sponsoring terrorism, stop threatening to massacre an entire country full of our staunchest Middle Eastern allies, and STOP trying to build nuclear weapons! This is outrageous! Obama is trying to let them get away with, like I said, 30 years of terrorism. And why? Just so he can walk around and say, “Ooooh, look at me, I talked to Iran! I rule!”

Iran is an enemy, and will continue to be until they drastically change how they participate in the world (namely, by NOT KILLING PEOPLE AND NOT BUILDING NUCLEAR WEAPONS). How can Obama and his stupid foreign policy team not get this?

What’s funny is that despite his ill-advised, “look our tail is between our legs please talk to us Iran” overture, they ignored him.

That’s the only funny part of this, unfortunately. Obama’s naive attitude toward terrorism is going to cost us dearly. I fear we will pay with the blood of innocent Americans.

Iran can develop a nuclear weapon within a year and has ready access to enough fissile material to produce up to 50 nuclear weapons, according to a panel of current and former U.S. officials advising the Obama administration.

William Schneider, Jr., chairman of the Defense Science Board and a former under secretary of state in the Reagan administration, offered those estimates Wednesday during a news conference announcing the release of a new “Presidential Task Force” report on Iran by the Washington Institute for Near East Policy.

The report, entitled “Preventing a Cascade of Instability: U.S. Engagement to Check Iranian Nuclear Progress,” was signed by a team of policymakers, former officials and Iran scholars that included Sen. Evan Bayh, D-Ind..

The “cascade” refers to a set of 164 high-speed centrifuges used to enrich uranium to the high levels necessary to produce a nuclear weapon. The United Nations’ nuclear watchdog, the International Atomic Energy Agency, recently reported that Iran has enough low enriched uranium to produce a nuclear weapon, and currently has 5,600 centrifuges operating at its pilot enrichment facility in Natanz. Iran has declared its intention to add another 45,000 centrifuges over the next five years.

So now this “I’m a dinner jacket” guy has enough yellowcake and centrifuges to attempt to follow through on his threat to wipe Israel off the map. If only he had a missile delivery system…like this one.

WWIII starts with the new Axis of Evil: Iran, North Korea and Syria, with supporting roles to Cuba, Venezuela and the new and improved Soviet Russian Empire 2.0. You can’t negotiate with zealots; Iran believes that wiping the zionists off the map will bring their savior into existence. (A savior, mind you, who bears a striking resemblance to the anti-Christ in Revelations. But I digress.)

This sort of international crisis is going to test Obama to a degree that he will be incapable of handling. If only the idiots who voted for him knew that this sort of thing was bound to happen. Oh wait, they did; Obama’s gaffe-machine of a VP said it would.

“I must announce that the Zionist regime (Israel), with a 60-year record of genocide, plunder, invasion and betrayal is about to die and will soon be erased from the geographical scene,” Ahmadinejad said.

“Today, the time for the fall of the satanic power of the United States has come and the countdown to the annihilation of the emperor of power and wealth has started,” the hard-line president said.

Well then. It seems like the dinner jacket man is still bent on destroying us and destroying our closest ally in the Middle East. This has not changed in how many years?

So, Mr. Obama, you still want to sit down with this joker and discuss your favorite colors and movies? Make a connection, build a bridge, work with him? Sure you do.

I personally don’t think that Ahmadinejad is going to be impressed with him bellowing “Change” and “Washington is broken” every two minutes. This, of course, is in sharp contrast to the sheep we have for voters in this country that have been rendered utterly spellbound by those hollow words.

Already under scrutiny for the death of former KGB agent Alexander Litvinenko, Russia has now turned their attentions to Iran by selling them missle defense systems.

As if the fellows over there in Tehran weren’t arrogant enough, now our fur-wearing friends are going to help them out with technology that could theoretically defend against a U.S. missle strike.

Predictably, Russia’s state arms exporter has denied the claims.
