Obamania continues past the election, apparently. And it’s also getting more ridiculous.
NEW YORK — At the behest of its students, an elementary school near New York City has been renamed after President-elect Barack Obama.
The Hempstead Union Free School District board voted unanimously Thursday night to rename Ludlum Elementary School as Barack Obama Elementary School. The change went into effect immediately, school officials said Friday.
Officials for the Long Island district say they think the school is the country’s first to be named after the first black president-elect, although similar efforts to rename schools, parks and streets are under way elsewhere.
The behest of its students? Yeah, I bet. I’m sure a bunch of elementary school students walked into the office and demanded that the school change it.
I like how they are renaming a school to honor a guy WHO HASN’T DONE ANYTHING YET. He’s not even President yet and we’re already crowning him as such an amazing leader that he should have schools named after him.
What, do people think he deserves a school named after him for buying an election? Please.
This is disgusting. It’s almost, ALMOST as sickening as the new Obama collector’s plate infomercial I saw. The vomit-inducing pitch in that one says something to the effect of “Obama’s confident smile and kind eyes are an inspiration to us all.” (Video, if you have a strong stomach: here.)
People are going to be so disappointed when they finally figure out that their “savior” is just another Chicago politician on a power trip.
Ok, that’s being a little mean. He’s not just “another Chicago politician.” He’s an exceedingly dangerous product of the Chicago political machine, bent on bringing socialism to the United States and bringing democracy to a grinding halt.
