Back in January, in a press interview, Barack Obama promised to bankrupt the coal industry should he be elected President. The fact that he said it is remarkable. That he said it is only coming to light the weekend before the election is more remarkable.
Barack Obama was discussing his proposed cap and trade system, in which owners of power generation plants would be taxed for the amount of green house gasses their plants produce, according to the San Francisco Chronicle. Barack Obama was very blunt on what he felt the effect on the coal industry would be. He said, “So if somebody wants to build a coal-powered plant, they can; it’s just that it will bankrupt them because they’re going to be charged a huge sum for all that greenhouse gas that’s being emitted.”
Ah…the hidden agendas are coming out now, aren’t they?
So he’s been pandering for votes in PA, OH, WV…all the while knowing that he wants to put those people out of jobs. Ironic? Yes. Going to have an effect tomorrow? Oh yeah.
